For the first time since 2016, Jack Black will reprise his role as Po, the beloved martial arts master who also happens to be a panda. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, the latest Netflix original series, will air on July 14th.
In the DreamWorks Animation new trailer, a duo of evil weasels named Klaus and Veruca Dumont attacks leaving the whole village destroyed, for which the townspeople blamed Po. His title of Dragon Master bumped down to “pending” status. And worse, his adoptive father Mr. Ping forlornly tells him, that the local dumpling shop has discarded a box of Po’s Dragon Master figurines. Elite English knight Luthera voiced by Rita Ora, or “The Wandering Blade” comes to Po’s village in search of The Dragon Master. As he soon realizes that everything is in chaos, a quest to save his country is the perfect way to win back favor at home.
Aside from Po and his father, the trailer mostly focuses on new characters like Luthera, Klaus, and Veruca. Po’s veteran crew Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Crane (David Cross) are absent from the teaser.
Peter Hastings, Shaunt Nigoghossian, and Black serve as executive producers for Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. Chris Amick and Ben Mekler are co-executive producers.
