Vida Lin Day has been declared by the Las Vegas City Council and Mayor Goodman on January 18, 2023, to honor Vida Lin for her contribution to Nevada’s Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Lin, a second-generation Chinese American, is the founder and president of the Asian Community Development Council (ACDC). She was one of the five leaders across America to be recognized with a Neighborhood Builders: Racial Equality Award from the Bank of America.
The award comes with $200,000 flexible funding from Bank of America that Lin has directed to ACDC.
Throughout her leadership, ACDC was able to distribute food to 3000+ families and 8,800+ individuals in need; organize a holiday drive-up food distribution; and administered 1800+ COVID-19 vaccines, hosting a total of 38 vaccine clinics.
Along with hosting community events, the organization has also hosted the Asian Night Market, College Readiness Bootcamp, and the Run for Rice and Walk for Wellness 5k.
