Alex Zhou ยท  Building Yami, the Most Popular Destination for Asian Goods

Alex Zhou is the founder and CEO of Yami. While studying in Kansas, Alex had very limited access to Asian groceries and products – having to drive two hours to reach the nearest Asian market. This inspired him to found Yamibuy.com in 2013 with the mission of making Asian goods accessible for everyone to experience and enjoy. At the very beginning, he was a one-man army working on every task from supply chain, logistics to customer service. Fast forward to today, Yami is a multi-hundred-million-dollar revenue company with over 1.5M user base. Over the course of 8 years, Yami has now become the most popular destination for Asian goods in North America and has expanded many Asian brandsโ€™ global footprints.

Alex is the youngest winner of 2017 Ernst & Youngโ€™s Entrepreneur of the Year in the Greater Los Angeles region.

Aside from being an entrepreneur, Alex is an avid soccer player. He loves adventures and enjoys car racing and hiking.
