Actor-Comedian Bobby Lee Stars In Mario Garcia’s Film ‘The Throwback’

HBO Max’s “And Just Like That…” actor, Bobby Lee, has signed on to star in Mario Garcia’s feature film directorial debut, “The Throwback”.

Currently filming in Tampa, the actor-comedian plays alongside Justina Machado, Will Sasso, Gregg Sulkin, and Michelle Randolph.

The indie comedy follows a married couple (Machado and Sasso) who are experiencing a full-blown midlife crisis thrown into further turmoil when the wife (Machado), an underappreciated and stressed ‘supermom,’ suffers a post-traumatic breakdown during the holiday season, causing her to relapse to her party-girl self from her college days.

The comedian will portray an ad agency art director who considers himself a ladies’ man and has worked with Sasso’s character Matt for years.

Garcia wrote the script and is producing with Michael A. Alfieri of Miantri Films and Doug Fox, while Danielle Del and Machado co-executive produce.

The actor, comedian, and podcaster recently appeared on Magnum P.I. He co-hosts the podcasts TigerBelly and Bad Friends with his partner Khalyla Kuhn and comic Andrew Santino, and will soon be seen in Eli Roth’s Borderlands adaptation for Lionsgate. Lee was on MADtv from 2001 to 2009. Lee has also appeared in the films Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004), Pineapple Express (2008), and The Dictator (2012).
