Comedy Central Renews ‘Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens’ For A Third Season

Nora will continue to navigate her life as Comedy Central renewed the sitcom starring the ‘Shang-Chi’ andCrazy Rich Asians’ actress Awkwafina for a third season!

The successful second season was launched in August 2021 and surpassed numbers for Season 1. The series has become the highest-rated season one premiere for Comedy Central since 2017.

During the first 2 seasons, the show had exciting guest stars including Michelle Buteau, Jaboukie Young-White, Laverne Cox, Simu Liu, Natasha Lyonne, and Margaret Cho.

‘Awkwafina is Nora From Queens’ was created by and stars the comedy actress as a fictionalized version of herself, growing up in Queens, New York. She attempts to find her own definition of adulthood as she struggles to hold down a job and navigates life with help from her father (BD Wong) and grandmother (Lori Tan Chinn).

Bowen Yang plays Nora’s cousin Edmund, Chrissie Fit as Nora’s best friend Melanie, Jonathan Park plays Doug, and Brenda, her father’s lover, is played by Jennifer Esposito. 

Awkwafina and showrunner Teresa Hsiao created the series and executive produced by them, also with Sean Fogel, Peter Principato, and Itay Reiss of Artists First. MTV Entertainment Studios’ executive producers are Ari Pearce and Andrew Lutin, with Tara Power serving as the executive in charge of production.
