Fire Island: Queer Rom-Com Film Starring Bowen Yang and Joel Kim Booster To Bring Heat This Summer

Saturday Night Live Emmy-nominated breakout star Bowen Yang, and screenwriter Joel Kim Booster star in the Searchlight LGBT rom-com film premiering this summer on Hulu.

Inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, “Fire Island” is set in Fire Island Pines, a famed queer escape destination off the southern shore of Long Island

The plot revolves around two best friends who decided to embark on a memorable week-long summer vacation with the help of cheap rosé and a group of eccentric friends.

Booster plays Noah, an Elizabeth Bennet-esque character, while Yang plays the skeptical Howie who is swept off his feet by a doctor played by James Scully from Netflix’s ‘You’. Mr. Darcy-inspired love interest is played by Conrad Ricamora of “How to Get Away with Murder. Stand-up comedian and musician Margaret Cho also joins the gang.

The film will premiere on Hulu in the United States on June 3, 2022, and on Disney+ in international territories in 2022.
