Korean Hit Series Squid Game Receives Three Nominations At 2022 TCA Awards

The Korean hit Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ has been nominated for 3 categories including Program of the Year against AMC’s ‘Better Call Saul’, HBO Max’s ‘Hacks’, ‘Severance’ from Apple TV+, HBO’s ‘Succession’, Showtime’s ‘Yellowjackets’, and HBO’s “The White Lotus.’

“This lineup is a testament to how diverse and innovative the modern television landscape has become,” said Melanie McFarland, TCA President, and TV Critic for Salon, “We cannot wait to see who will rise above the rest when the winners are revealed at the 38TH Annual TCA Awards on August 6.”

Lee Jung-Jae, the series’ lead actor, is nominated for Individual Achievement in Drama, together with nine other actors including Michael Keaton, Bob Odenkirk, Mandy Moore, and Amanda Seyfried.

The series also got nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Drama, in a tight competition with 2020 winner ‘Succession’ of HBO, and 2019 winner AMC’s Better Call Saul.

Squid Game recently won Outstanding Performance by a Male and Female Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series, and was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series at the 2022 SAG Awards.

The TCA Awards will take place on August 6, 2022, in Los Angeles.
