Nathan Chen Dedicates Gold Medal to his Mother as they Reunite Post Winter Olympics

The 22-year-old American figure skater won the gold medal in the men’s figure skating short program at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. As he earns accolades and great praise, he continues to credit it all to his mother.

The Olympian reunites with his mother live on the TODAY show, where he hugged his mother and then placed his medal around her neck. Notably, the gold medalist said, “There’s no way I would be able to make it to where I am now without her support. She gave me structure. She made it fun for me.”

Chen’s mother is proud and constantly believes what will happen, as most of the time, she sees him practice a lot.

The American figure skater and the two-time Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan are widely regarded as the best figure skaters of their generation, and are frequently viewed as arch-rivals. Nathan, on the other hand, has shown his respect for Hanyu on multiple occasions

Nathan Chen stood out from the other competitors and won gold despite the tough competition at the Beijing Olympics.
